Goals and objectives.

 

Mastering the primary skills of minimally invasive SPAY surgery.

Introduction to skills of single port transvaginal endoscopic ovario- and ovariohysterectomy.

Mastering the art of modern endoscopic equipment application performing LAP SPAY surgery in dogs, tips and tricks for single port trocar positioning, pneumoperitoneum, vessel sealing, etc .

 

Skills training - dissection, approximation of tissue, fixation, exposition, hemostasis, modern ligation techniques - vessel sealing.

 

 

9.00-10.00  Theory and Instrumentation.

Features of transvaginal single-port SPAY surgery, advantages and benefits.  Endoscopic equipment for single-port accesses. Internal organs visualization features using the single-port systems.

Sequential algorithm - from access until the closure of the defect.

Testing of the primary skills of endoscopic treatment with modern tools and equipment. The primary virtual manual training.

 

10.00-12.30 SPAY transvaginal surgery. Clinical demonstration.

Selection and preparation of the patient. Surgical intervention: intervention implementation, revision of the abdominal cavity.

Mobilization of tissues and surgical hemostasis. Resection and removal of organs. Control of hemostasis. Closures.

 

12.00-13.00 Lunch.

 

13.30 - 16.00 Cadaver Training.

Hands – on under instructor supervision. Mastering of critical transvaginal endoscopic SPAY surgery skills.

"Hand-eye" visual-tactile coordination tests of trainees.

 

16.00-16.30 Certificates award.
